On April 16, the Medical Robot Innovation and Development Seminar was held in Future Science City, Changping District, Beijing. The seminar was hosted by China Association for Medical Devices Industry (CAMDI) and co-organized by the Zhongguancun Life Science Park Administrative Committee and the Zhongguancun Science Park Changping Park Administrative Committee. Representatives from regulatory agencies and scientists and entrepreneurs in the industry were invited to the seminar to discuss the industrial innovation and development and jointly promote the steady progress of medical robot industry. Jiang Deyuan, former Head of Department of Medical Device Registration of National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) and Senior Advisor of CAMDI, made a speech on behalf of CAMDI, who said that medical robots represent the high-degree integration of multidisciplinary technologies and the bold application of cutting-edge scientific and technological innovations; the development of medical robot industry is an important part of efforts to accelerate the development of new quality productive forces and demonstrating and promote high-quality development; under the effect of policy, economic, social and technological factors, the medical robot market showed a rapid growth trend, which was bound to improve the efficiency and quality of medical services in diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation fields, and ease the strain on medical resources. Representatives from relevant government departments were invited to listen to industry reports, a full demonstration of great importance the regulatory agencies attach to the industry development. Superior administrative departments that provide operational guidance for CAMDI, including NMPA, are always supportive and helpful in many aspects, which is a great encouragement to CAMDI and representatives from medical robot enterprises. CAMDI will continue to serve national strategies, industrial development and regulatory needs as always, and work together with the community to promote the healthy development of the industry.
