The Global Harmonization Working Party (GHWP) held a Technical Committee (TC) Leaders Meeting in Shenzhen from June 14 to 15, 2023, which was attended by the GHWP leadership team, TC working groups, advisors and relevant experts. The meeting focused on the work plan for regulatory rule development and revision and recent key work arrangements. Xu Jinghe, Deputy Commissioner of the National Medical Products Administration of China and Chair of GHWP, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. 

Xu Jinghe emphasized that health is the issue humanity is most concerned about and the most eternal pursuit and the most valuable asset of humanity. He stated that the TC working groups of GHWP should earnestly fulfill their mission, actively adapt to the new needs of global medical device industry innovation and development, timely develop and revise harmonization plans for regulatory rules and accelerate the convergence, harmonization and trust of regulatory rules among member countries and regions. He stated that it’s important to strengthen the publicity, training and application of regulatory rules, continuously advance regulatory system and regulatory capability improvement in member countries and regions, adhere to the principles of openness and win-win cooperation, fully leverage the unique advantages of GHWP, strengthen communication and cooperation with relevant international organizations and work hard to protect and promote global public health.
