The Hospitals Contest (Beijing) (“Contest”) of 6th China Medical Devices Design & Entrepreneurship Competition 2023 was successfully held in Beijing from June 10 to June 11, 2023.
In order to thoroughly implement the three new national policy documents for the transformation of sci-tech achievements and effectively improve the sci-tech innovation capabilities of hospitals and the efficiency of transformation of sci-tech achievements, the Contest was held to further arouse the enthusiasm of hospital talents for innovation and entrepreneurship, set up a platform for display and communication and provide achievement transformation services.
The Contest was hosted by the China Strategic Alliance of Medical Device Innovation and undertaken by Innomd.org and BJ Medical Valley.
The China Medical Devices Design & Entrepreneurship Competition (“Competition”, part of “Innovation China” activities) has been successfully held for five consecutive sessions under the guidance of the China Association for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China. The five sessions have collected more than 3,000 medical device innovation projects from home and abroad. The Competition and its supporting activities have cumulatively attracted the participation of nearly 3,000 enterprises and innovation service and investment institutions, the visits of about 40,000 persons on site and the presence of many ministry and commission heads and academicians and more than 100 authoritative regulation and industry experts to provide guidance on site. A total of 369 first-prize, second-prize and third-prize projects have been selected from the finals of the five sessions, which obtained total financing of nearly RMB 6.7 billion according to post-competition half-year tracking statistics, and some of which subsequently obtained project funding from ministries, commissions, provinces, cities or the army and won the prizes of other competitions.
Divided into the Nurses Group and Doctors Group, the Hospitals Contest (Beijing) gathered medical innovation projects from institutions such as Capital Medical University, hospitals affiliated to Capital Medical University, Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Beijing Neurosurgical Institute, which involve AI + medical software and hardware, intervention medical devices, IVD diagnostics, inspection and testing, nursing, etc. After screening, a total of 41 projects competed fiercely in the final. Five first prizes, four second prizes, eight third prizes and 24 winning prizes were selected for the Contest.
