[CMDDEC] New Highlights of Medical Device Innovation! List of Winners from the Semifinals for High-value Consumables and Implantation and Intervention Products Category Released at the 4^th China Medical Devices Design & Entrepreneurship Competition 2021

“Seize the day and live it to the full” can aptly describe the state of this group of medical device innovation teams from all corners of the country!

Today (September 14), the Semifinals for High-value Consumables and Implantation and Intervention Products Category of the 4th China Medical Devices Design & Entrepreneurship Competition 2021 (“Competition”) kicked off in Hefei, Anhui. Despite unfavorable factors such as the circulating COVID-19 pandemic and changing weather to the Competition this year, the contestants have overcome difficulties and competed fiercely.

The Competition has been successfully held for three consecutive sessions under the guidance of the Department of Science and Technology for Social Development of the Ministry of Science and Technology and China National Center for Biotechnology Development and has collected 283, 607, and 665 medical device innovation projects, respectively, and it has a good start this year, where the number of participating projects reaches a new high to 831 from home and abroad. From the Competition, we can learn more about the innovative development of medical devices.

The Semifinals for High-value Consumables and Implantation and Intervention Products Category were hosted by China Service Alliance of Medical Device Innovation, Sino-Singapore Suzhou-Chuzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone Management Committee, Suzhou Industrial Park Eastern Medical Device Innovation Center and co-organized by the Innovation Services Committee of China Association for Medical Devices Industry (“CAMDI”) and Yangtze River Delta Science and Technology Industry Alliance, and organized by Suzhou Service Center for Medical Device Innovation.

Competition Performance
Twenty excellent innovation and entrepreneurship projects competed on site and were graded by the judges from five dimensions including innovativeness, clinical and social value, project progress, team, and risk assessment, to select two first prizes, three second prizes, seven third prizes, and eight excellent prizes.

“Innovative”, a word to express “imaginative”, became more concrete from the wonderful performance of these projects.
