From May 16 to 17, 2020 the Fifth Vascular Innovation Symposium China (VINNOVA 2020) was held online and attracted notable experts from all circles. As the first large-scale academic conference in the sector held online, it presented a cross-border innovation feast with novel form and informative content.
The Symposium was sponsored by the Vascular Medicine Committee of the Chinese Research Hospital Association and Vascular Devices Branch of China Association for Medical Devices Industry (CAMDI), and undertaken by the Department of Vascular Surgery of The First Medical Center of Chinese PLA General Hospital. With over 100 hours of live stream accumulated for the past two days, the five venues had more than 700,000 online views and over 56,800 viewers, who contributed over 79,300 hours of viewing time in total. The Symposium realized an extensive coverage of areas by covering 287 cities in 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, and 12 countries and regions. In addition, 98% of specialists accomplished academic tasks. Both the attending experts and audiences thought highly of the innovation of the symposium in form and contents.
The cloud-based Symposium consisted of 14 enterprise sub-forums and over 50 sessions and solicited 406 well-known experts (including over 20 international specialists) from each sector. Heated discussions were conducted around over 380 topics.
“Although we cannot have face-to-face communication due to the epidemic, our passion for innovation will never be affected. Through VINNOVA 2020, we meet online and discuss innovative ideas, methods, devices, designs, medical records and education in the vascular field. It is believed that the collision of ideas of experts in various sectors will spark insights and facilitate the creation of different innovative projects. It is also believed that all the audiences can gain new inspirations from this innovation symposium.
