From August 16 to 18, finals of China Medical Devices Design & Entrepreneurship Competition 2019 in terms of materials and accessories technology, in vitro diagnostics, and optics, mechanics and electronics were held in Beijing. In the Beijing final, the final competition of this event, 60 excellent innovation and entrepreneurship projects performed wonderful roadshows. Up to now, 180 projects entering the semi-finals of CMDDEC 2019 have completed all the on-site roadshows.
Three types of 60 projects ignite the competition
The Beijing final lasted for three days. It obtained sound support from CAMDI – the co-organizer of this competition. A total of 21 specialists in the sectors of registration, technology, clinic and investment were invited to attend Beijing semi-final as judges. These specialists included Ding Jiandong, a professor of Fudan University, Li Wen, deputy director of Beijing Institute of Medical Device Testing, Wang Jiayi, secretary-general of POCT Industrial Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance. One semi-final on one of the three sectors – materials and accessories technology, in vitro diagnostics, and optics, mechanics and electronics was held each day. There were 20 projects for each group, and each project was subject to a 20-minute presentation, including 15 minutes for speech and five minutes for questions and answers session with the judges and judges scoring. At last, two first prizes, three second prizes, five third prizes and ten excellent prizes were awarded in the semi-final according to the scores made based on six dimensions: innovation, scientificity, technology maturity, application value, social significance, and risk analysis.
As the last semi-final, Beijing semi-final attracted numerous audiences from many investment institutions, scientific research institutes, parks and governments in Beijing and surrounding areas, which spoke highly of the quality of participating projects.
