The registration channel of China Medical Devices Design & Entrepreneurship Competition 2019 was open On April 8, and closed on July 20. During the enrollment (103 days), a total of 607 domestic and overseas projects from four major sectors (optics, mechanics and electronics, in vitro diagnostics, AI and software, and materials and accessories technology) participated in this event. After the enrollment, the organizers of this competition invited a number of top-notch experts in these fields to conduct preliminary selection of the application materials. A total of 20 projects entered “AI and software” session of the semi-final in Chengdu region after over 10 days of intensive selection.
On August 1, the “AI and software” session of the semi-final of “China Medical Devices Design & Entrepreneurship Competition 2019” in Chengdu region co-organized by Chengdu High-Tech Industrial Development Zone was held in Culture Center of Chengdu Tianfu International Bio-town. Li Qi, deputy director general of Biological Industry Development Bureau of Chengdu High-Tech Industrial Development Zone and deputy director of Management Committee of Chengdu Tianfu International Bio-town, Jiang Feng, director of China Strategic Innovation Alliance of Medical Device Technology and standing vice president of China Association for Medical Devices Industry (CAMDI), Xu Shan, secretary-general of CAMDI, Hu Jing, vice general manager of Sichuan Tianfu New Area Branch of China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd., along with other leaders and guests attended this semi-final in Chengdu. The judge panel of “AI and software” session of the semi-final in Chengdu region consisted of Qiu Xuejun, professor and vice chairman of Medical Physics Branch of Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering (CSBME), Pei Baoqing, professor of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Gong Shiming, professor-level senior engineer of General Hospital of PLA, Liu Qi, professor of Sichuan University, Dong Li, associate research fellow of University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and Zeng Ping, partner of Tao Capital. In the semi-final, each project was subject to 20 minutes of presentation, including 15 minutes for speech and five minutes for questions and answers session with the judges and judges scoring. At last, two first prizes, three second prizes, five third prizes and ten excellent prizes were awarded in the semi-final according to the scores.
China Medical Devices Design & Entrepreneurship Competition 2019 completely launched. In August, a total of seven semi-finals in Weihai, Gaochun and Beijing would raise the curtain. The results of the semi-finals in the sectors of optics, mechanics and electronics, in vitro diagnostics, AI and software, and materials and accessories technology will be ranked nationally and published. The top 15 in each sector will enter the national final to be held in Suzhou and Kunshan on September 5.
