Press Conference for 2019 China Medical Devices Design & Startups Competition & Global Device Week Held in Beijing
On the afternoon of April 8, the press conference of "2019 China Medical Devices Design & Startups Competition & Global Device Week" was held in Beijing. Representatives from sponsors, co-sponsors and supporters, including Department of Science and Technology for Social Development of Ministry of Science, Technology and China National Center for Biotechnology Development, Messe Dusseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Suzhou Industrial Park Management Committee, Suzhou Industrial Park Bio-industry Development Co., Ltd., and Suzhou Medical Device Innovation Service Center, attended the conference. Attendees introduced the related details on "2019 China Medical Devices Design & Startups Competition (CMDDSC 2019)" and "Global Device Week" and answered questions from the media.
Dr. Jiang Feng, Chairman of China Service Alliance for Medical Device Technology Innovation, introduced that more than 6,191 people registered for activities of China Medical Devices Design & Startups Competition & Global Device Week firstly held in 2018, with a total of 14,000 person-times from 15 countries. There were 207 exhibitors, 314 investment institutions and investors and 283 guest speakers in the event. The 15 winning projects of the competition raised nearly CNY 1.7 billion in the three months. The event received wide attention and warm response from the medical device industry.
Due to the market demand and enterprises' appeal, 2019 Global Device Week will be held in Suzhou Industrial Park on September 5 to 7, 2019 in the form of "one innovation contest, one international exhibition and three keynote forums" adopted last year. The event will mainly include CMDDSC 2019 and Medical Fair China 2019 (MFC 2019) led by the Department of Social Development of the Ministry of Science and Technology and China National Center for Biotechnology Development, along with three keynote forums: Device China 2019, China Medical Innovation Forum 2019 (CMIF 2019) and Transformational Medicine & Innovation Service 2019 (TMIS 2019). About 20 sub-forums on professional topics will also be held.
Within three days, 2019 Global Device Week will present the latest frontier policies and innovation development trend in the industry, and analyze the cooperative mechanism among industry, university, research, marketing, use, supervision and investment at different perspectives from different multi-dimensional directions including cardiovascular diseases, imaging equipment, tumor-related instruments, surgical and orthopedic instruments and materials, medical artificial intelligence, in vitro diagnosis (IVD), supply of upstream materials and fittings, innovative design of medical devices and transformation of medical achievements, as well as discuss innovation policies with innovation organizations and experts in the industry, so as to promote the innovation development of China's medical device industry.
2019 China Medical Devices Design & Startups Competition & Global Device Week is expected to invite 100 senior academicians and experts, 30-50 overseas guests, and 30 national clinical medical research centers. It will attract 500 R&D and innovation enterprises or teams and hundreds of high-quality and innovative projects to join in the road show at home and abroad, along with 100 well-known innovation service institutions and 100 top professional investment institutions.
The promotion of the innovation development of medical devices is an important decision made by the Party Central Committee of CPC and the State Council. 2019 China Medical Devices Design & Startups Competition and 2019 Global Device Week will bring together global innovative talents, projects, products and service resources, promote the international innovation cooperation, speed up the transformation of medical devices and clinical research and results of institutes, and further contribute to the innovation development of China's medical devices.
