Members of CAMDI such as Mindray, Edan and United Imaging Recognized as one of the 2018 Top 100 Innovators in Mainland China!

On October 16, the 2018 Top 100 Innovators in Mainland China (hereinafter referred to as "Top 100 Innovators of in China") was released. This is the third consecutive year that the Clarivate Analytics, an intelligent information provider, released the report. The report selected 100 companies with the most innovative strength in mainland China by accounting for their synthesis scores calculated based on four factors including the total number of invention patents, patent authorization rate, the extent of globalization and influence.

Among the companies selected into the 2018 Top 100 Innovators list, only Mindray, Edan and United Imaging are members of CAMDI. Mindray has entered the second echelon in the overall ranking which consisted of 25 companies including Alibaba, China Resources and China Mobile. This was the first time that Edan and United Imaging was selected into the list. Of 15 companies of various industries newly selected in 2018, 12 entered the list for the first time. These new companies mainly come from sectors such information security and medical device, a phenomenon that also reflects the increasing significance of Internet security and the rapid growth of the medical device technology market.

The ChiNext–listed Mindray which possesses 746 patients in total was the only medical device enterprise selected into the Top 50 List of Enterprises with a State-Accredited Enterprise Technology Center Owning the Most Inventions and Patents in March, 2018. Meanwhile, according to the Prospectus of Listing on the ChiNext, Mindray invested 10.13% of its business income in research and development in 2017. Found in 1991, Shenzhen Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics Co., Ltd., which began its business as a trader, has managed to forge three production lines through the development mode of Sales agent + Independent research and development + internationalization + Domestic and international mergers and acquisitions: Monitoring, ultrasound and testing.

According to the 2018 semiannual report of Edan, it has won 257 invention patents, 235 patents of utility model, 141 patents of exterior design and 386 software copyrights. In addition, it has put 17.00% of its revenue (up to CNY 82.9165 million) into research and development. Found in Shenzhen in 1995, Edan has become an absolute pioneer in fetal monitoring and ECG products.

United Imaging has also put 18% of its revenue into the research and development of high–end imaging and AI. The Shanghai–based company was built in October, 2010. Over these years, it has created a competitive edge by establishing several product divisions including divisions of MI, CT, RT, X-ray and AI.
