On October 16, “Norway China Business Summit 2018” was jointly held by Innovation Norway and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in Beijing. Nearly 1,000 delegates from governments, chambers of commerce and industry and entrepreneurs of both countries attended this summit and had deep conversations under the theme of “pioneering sustainable solutions”. His Majesty King Harald V and Mr. Gu Shengzu, Vice Chairman of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) delivered speeches respectively.
His Majesty King Harald V said that the trade relations between Norway and China have witnessed a strong momentum of rapid development in recent years. Against such backdrop, strengthening trade networks of both countries will not only boost economic development, but also influence the way their societies relate to one another. He stressed that Norway and China are grasping new opportunities and working together to develop safer, greener and more efficient solutions for the future.
Mr. Gu Shengzu, vice chairman of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, pointed out in his speech that China and Norway have a long history of friendship, and the economic and trade cooperation between China and Norway is complementary, mutually-beneficial and win-win. It is believed that under the leadership of the two heads of state, bilateral relations between China and Norway will be injected with new impetus and the economic and trade cooperation will move forward in the right direction.
At the parallel forum on “Norway China Cooperation on Sustainable Health Technology Solutions” held in the afternoon, a welcome and opening remark was given by Ms. Anne Erlandsen, state secretary of Norwegian Ministry of Health and Care Services. Ms. Xue Haining, deputy director of System Reform Department of National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China, briefed the latest developments of healthcare reform in China. Ms. Xu Shan, secretary general of China Association for Medical Devices Industry (CAMDI), delivered a keynote speech on the sustainable development of medical devices industry in China. In her speech, Xu gave a detailed introduction to all the attendees in terms of development status of China's medical devices industry, recent policies of medical device industry and other fronts of CAMDI.
In the summit, government agencies and enterprises of both sides signed 24 cooperation agreements involving finance, environmental protection, energy, culture and tourism.
