From April 20 to 21, 2018, the “2018 Vascular Innovation Symposium” was held successfully in Beijing Empark Grand Hotel by the Department of Vascular Surgery of Chinese PLA General Hospital, under the joint sponsorship of the Vascular Devices Branch of China Association for Medical Devices Industry (CAMDI) and the Vascular Medicine Committee of Chinese Research Hospital Association (CRHA).
The highlights of the Symposium aimed at: 1. communicating the most cutting-edge technologies in the industry, and learning the latest clinical demands and relevant technical development; 2. getting to know how to assess the development prospect of innovative technologies and products from the perspective of clinical demands; 3. carrying out diversified exchange on capital activities; 4. providing business opportunities for technology transfer, and developing exploration in the field combining medicine with engineering; 5. communicating with great masters from the international medical circle face-to-face; and 6. discussing stages to be gone through for transformation of innovative products, and solutions for difficulties and issues of each stage.
At the opening ceremony of the Innovation Symposium on April 21, Yu Qilin, Director of Surgery Clinical Department, Chinese PLA General Hospital, Wang Shenming, Honorary Leader of the Vascular Surgery Team, Surgery Branch of CMA, Chen Zhong, Leader of the Vascular Surgery Team, Surgery Branch of CMA, Xie Shaofeng, Director of Information Software Service Division, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Jiang Feng, Standing Vice President of CAMDI, and Wang Faqiang, President of Chinese Research Hospital Association, attended the ceremony for speeches to the Symposium.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Guo Wei, Director of Department of Vascular Surgery, Chinese PLA General Hospital and also Executive Chairman of the Innovation Symposium.
In the afternoon on April 20, relevant personnel from Department of Medical Statistics of National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases, Department of Medical Statistics of Peking University First Hospital, and Center for Medical Device Evaluation of China Drug Administration made interpretations and illustrations regarding new progress in reform of the medical device clinical trial management system in China, the Medical Device Clinical Trial Design Guidelines, clinical research design, statistic issues and countermeasures, etc. At the second venue, a training for animal experiment specifications was carried out, which attracted a lot of young and middle-aged talents from hospitals throughout the country who were engaged in innovation and with passion and vitality, and the discussion on site was warm.
In the evening on April 20, at the Committee of the Whole of “Vascular Medicine Committee of Chinese Research Hospital Association” and “Vascular Devices Branch of China Association for Medical Devices Industry”, Wang Faqiang, President of Chinese Research Hospital Association, made interpretations on the “Development History and Future Prospects of Research Hospitals”. Professor Guo Wei, Director of Department of Vascular Surgery, Chinese PLA General Hospital led everyone to discuss vascular innovation modes, methods and contents, and established a group to collect innovative suggestions. Medical representatives from industries of medical devices, representatives of national authorities and representatives of manufacturers indicated that the Innovation Symposium was a down-to-earth platform integrating service resources for innovation and benefiting the health of the common mass.
