2017 Hot Policy Seminar of China Medical Device Industry was going on in Beijing on December 17, 2017. Leaders and guests from Social Security Center of Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Price Surveillance and Anti-monopoly Bureau of NDRC, Medical Service Guidance Center of NHFPC, Health Development and Research Center of NHFPC, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and National Institutes for Food and Drug Control (Standard Management Center for Medical Devices of the CFDA) attended the meeting. Policy session was presided over by Xu Shan, secretary-general of the CAMDI and Luan Tianshu, the vice president of government affairs of Johnson & Johnson (China) Medical Co., Ltd. delivered a speech.

Ms. Luan Tianshu pointed out in her speech that the development of the medical device industry has become an important symbol of the development level of science and technology in the country. Johnson & Johnson has taken root in China for 33 years and cannot develop without macroeconomic policies. Johnson & Johnson will continue to work together, as always, to support the development of government reforms and health services.

During the seminar, experts from Social Security Center of Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security made a keynote speech on the reform trend of medical insurance payment.

Tang Jinglong, director of Passive Standard Room, Standard Management Center for Medical Devices of the CFDA, taking “Framework of Medical Device Classification Catalogue” as the core, analyzed the design ideas, principles and changes of the new version of classification catalogue, and explained the problem of “products not within the medical device management” and “information of effective registration certificate and filing certificate associated with the classification catalogue” and so on.

During the seminar, the speakers and attendees conducted question-response interaction on the industry hotspot policy in 2017 and the content of the keynote speech and made in-depth exchanges. Finally, the seminar ended in a relaxing and warm atmosphere.
