To all concerned,
The UN procurement is a kind of important international government procurement, mainly for the assistance projects, emergency relief, material reserves, post-disaster reconstruction and institutional supplies of the UN. According to statistics, the total procurement amounts of the UN during 2013~2016 were $16.083 billion, $17.237 billion, $17.6 billion and $17.713 billion respectively. The healthcare products and services are becoming the important procurement materials of the UN with an increasing procurement proportion, including drugs (anti-malaria, anti-TB, anti-AIDS, etc.), vaccines, medical devices and hospital equipment, laboratory equipment, medical consumables, healthcare products and medical services, and there are hundreds of procurement categories.
In recent years, with the continuous improvement of commodity quality and export qualification, China health care industry gained much more recognition for its manufacturers in the international markets. And the international certifications, such as FDA, CE, PQ, even bring more opportunities of UN procurement. However, due to lack of knowledge of UN procurement market, regulations and procedures, failure to obtain UN procurement information timely and effectively, and insufficient international professional bidding personnel and experiences, China health care corporations lost many opportunities of directly involving in UN procurement, mostly acting as “processors”.
To help more suppliers know the UN procurement dynamics and master the procedures and rules, CAMDI and International Tendering and Bidding Procurement Website will hold a “UN Healthcare Procurement Communication Meeting” in Beijing on September 16, 2017. The Meeting will focus on the analysis and interpretation of the 2016 UN procurement summary, introduction to the UN procurement procedures and rules and sharing of the experience of suppliers in UN procurement bidding, with the purpose to help the domestic suppliers accumulate experience and master the method of entering the UN procurement market. Meanwhile, the Meeting will offer site analysis of the upcoming tendering project of “2019~2021 Long-term Agreement on Medical Products” held by UNFPA, whoever interested, please pay attention to the Attachment 2 Procurement List.
