Medical Robots Transfers to Asia and China Market Shows Promising Prospect

  • 2016-10-13

Different from common service robots, medical robots are able to perform high-precision, high-strength and long-time medical services in a narrow space, with strong adaptability in clinical practice, and efficiently reduce operative difficulties and postoperative losses, thus being competitive in the market.

A report released by CIConsulting suggests that Development Planning for Robotics Industry (2016-2020) jointly issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, National Development and Reform Commission, and Ministry of Finance on April 2016 will lead to a rapid, healthy and sustainable advance of robotics industry in China, showing that medical robot policy is long-term positive. Moreover, because of an increased medical investment by the government, a reconstructed medical system and people’s strengthened awareness of the minimal invasive surgery, future market of medical robots will gradually shift its focus to Asian markets, indicating that China has a considerable prospect for the medical robots development.

Surgical Robots’ Step Ahead with The trend: According to Data From CIConsulting. In 2014, the sales of global medical robots were 1224 and compared with that of 386 in 2004, the compound annual growth rate reached 12.2%. By January 2016, annual revenue in global medical robotics industry has reached $7.47 billion USD and the scale of medical robots market is expected to reach $11.4 billion USD by 2020. Among them, surgical robots account for about 60% of market share.

Rehabilitation Robots’ accelerated catch-up, but far away From Large-Scale Application.
