On July 16, 2016, the “China Medical Innovation Forum 2016” was held in Suzhou Hi-Tec Zone. The forum was sponsored by Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd and China Strategic Alliance of Medical Device Innovation and co-organized by InnoMed and Jiangsu Medpark.
Dr. Jiang Feng, president of China Strategic Alliance of Medical Device Innovation (CSAMDI) made an opening address. In the meeting, heads of CFDA, MOST, Jiangsu Medtech Innovation Hub, Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital and other institutions made excellent speeches from different angles on the topic of “Translational Medicine—Industrial Service—Innovation & Win-Win”.
Wang Lanming, commissioner from Department of Medical Device Registration of CFDA made a special report tilted Regulations for Medical Device Innovation & Innovative Medical Device Registration, proposing three new angles of view for medical device innovation, including medicine, engineering, business; making comprehensive interpretation at various angles and levels in terms of “how to encourage and promote medical devices innovation”, especially the regulatory approval and other issues the enterprises care the most. Hua Yutao, head of Chemical Medicine and Medical Devices of China National Center for Biotechnology Development, made a special report titled “S&T Program Management Reform and the 13th Five Year Plan on the Medical Devices Industry”, detailing the “S&T Program Management Reform” and “the 13th Five Year Plan and Policy Measure”. Wang Jie, Vice-Director of Jiangsu Clinical Medical Research Institute & Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital made a keynote speech titled “Translational Medicine– From Concept Formation to Clinical Application”, detailing the translational medicine from concept formation to clinical application, and proposing that the clinical demand of translational medicine shall be doctor-sourced and patient-centered. Roundtable discussion was made in respect of the topic of “how does the translational medicine and innovative service promote industrial development” and "Road Show" of medical devices innovation projects was held.
