On March 4, 2016, CAMDI was invited to attend Embassy of Sweden’s Medical Devices Industry Seminar. Officers from Swedish Agency for Growth Policy Analysis and Business Sweden attended the seminar.
Life science & healthcare is one of the four key industries of Sweden in China. China shows great interest to Sweden’s healthcare solution. Though Sweden is small in area, it owns various powerful life science solutions. Besides, Sweden’s life science industry also adapts itself to the development goal of China. In 2011, a MOU was signed by and between
Swedish Medical Product Agency and CFDA, and in April 2015, an action
plan was signed by NHFPC and Ministry of Health and Social Affairs of
Sweden to promote the close cooperation in health field. The cooperation in political level drives
cooperation in research institutes and industries between two countries,
as well as in the governments, organizations, companies and
universities.
Deputy Secretary General of the association
Xu Shan attended the seminar as special guest and gave a speech about
the status and tendency of China's medical device industry innovation
development. Representatives from European Union Chamber
of Commerce in China (EUCCC) and Karolinska Institutet (KI) introduced
the regulatory framework of EU and the effect on the regulatory changes
of China’s medical device industry respectively. Representatives from GE Healthcare,
Diaverum, Mölnlycke Health Care, Elekta and other enterprises were also
invited to the seminar. The seminar provided a good communication
platform for all representatives, and the development situation of
medical device industry and future cooperation between China and Sweden were discussed.
