On February 1, 2018, "the 12th Five-Year Plan" National Science and Technology supporting Program "Advanced tumor treatment equipment and Materials Research and Development" Project passed the concluding acceptance organized by the Department of Social Development Science and Technology, Department of Resource Allocation and Management and China National Center for Biotechnology Development under the Ministry of Science and Technology. Project achievements include: 9 advanced tumor treatment devices and 1 type of tumor embolism material developed, 7 registration certificates of products obtained, 3 registration certificates under the application for acceptance, 12 critical core technologies developed, development of 7 core components completed, 22 domestic invention patents granted, 11 foreign invention patents granted and 8 standards completed and established, including one international standard. The tumor treatment devices and materials developed during the Project break the bottleneck of traditional tumor treatment technologies to effectively expand the scope of tumor treatment, enrich the approaches of tumor treatment, improve the efficacy of tumor treatment and sharpen the competitive edge of China in the field of tumor radiotherapy.
